Welcome!

Greetings! Welcome to my blog - its taken a shift from a personal travel blog of my excursions in Europe, to covering the "Great Tate Adventure" which is my family's version of a cross-country vacation. Hopefully Wally-World will be open!

The Three P's: Preparation, Packing, & Pre-trip Anxiety?

Alright, so here's where the blogging starts heavily. We're only a few days from our Saturday departure and we've been working round the clock trying to get ready for our epic family adventure. Here's just a few examples of some of our recent pre-trip "to-do's" that have kept us occupied lately:

1) Kelsey and I sorted, organized, and collected all the spare change in our household. I took it to the bank and got it cashed so that we could afford our trip. I know, it's very ghetto, but guess what! After 20 years of living here, turns out we found about $500 bucks!

2) Mom has been packing clothes, toiletries, and travel info, re-packing clothes, toiletries, and travel info, and trying to determine how to fit her life into a carry-on travel-friendly bag.

3) Dad's been doing taxes, what's new? But that's important too, because without your tax dollars at work to help him get a paycheck, how else could we take part in this amazing experience that we're blogging about!?

4) Kelsey watches movies a lot lately, she also frequently hangs out with her friends at Best Buy, Target, Barnes and Noble, and claims that her contribution to our family trip will be her "spontaneity." Well, we'll see how that goes when we actually get moving.

Lastly, if you haven't caught on, we'd love to hear your feedback, support, maybe a good word or two, and if you're praying out there; pray that the Tate Family survives this unique trip. Honestly, we need all the happy thoughts we can get.

Until next time,

~Josh
